Opposition Leader Satheesan Slams CPM Over Violence, Calls Minister's Injury a 'Fabricated Story'
Satheesan: CPM Violence Due to Minister's Lies, Public Will Respond in Polls

Opposition Leader V D Satheesan Condemns CPM for Statewide Violence Amid Alleged Fabricated Injury Claims

In a scathing critique, Opposition leader V D Satheesan has launched a fierce attack on the Communist Party of India (Marxist), accusing them of orchestrating widespread violence across Kerala by propagating blatant falsehoods regarding an alleged injury to Health Minister Veena George during a Kerala Students Union (KSU) protest. Speaking at a press conference in Adoor on Friday, Satheesan asserted that the CPM's actions have plunged the state into turmoil, with promotional materials for the Puthu Yuga Yatra being destroyed in Pathanamthitta, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram, resulting in injuries to numerous individuals.

Satheesan Labels Minister's Injury Narrative a 'Conspiracy' to Divert Attention

Satheesan emphatically stated that the fabricated story of an attack on the minister is nothing short of a calculated conspiracy designed to divert public attention from unresolved and critical issues within the health sector. He highlighted that despite the exposure of this false narrative, CPM leaders have persistently continued to incite violence, thereby exacerbating the situation. "The people of Kerala are fully aware of the lies propagated by the health minister, speaker, chief minister, and party secretary," Satheesan declared, adding that Health Minister Veena George has become a figure of ridicule, with the public beginning to laugh upon hearing her name.

Violence and False Imprisonment Allegations Detailed

The opposition leader provided specific instances to substantiate his claims, revealing that bombs were thrown at the residence of a KSU leader who participated in the protest, and KSU members were falsely imprisoned on charges of attempted murder. He argued that the violence sweeping across Kerala is a direct consequence of a minister's lies, which have been wholeheartedly supported by the party. "The public will respond decisively to this in the upcoming elections," Satheesan warned, underscoring the electoral repercussions of such actions.

Demands for CPM to Cease Violence and Withdraw Cases

Satheesan issued a clear and unequivocal demand for the CPM to immediately halt all violence, withdraw the attempted murder case against KSU members, and confront the situation through political and legal channels. He pointed out that the public has realized the entire episode was a scam, citing RPF footage from the railway station that confirmed no violence occurred. "The minister's gunman was present, and the staged incident on the third platform has been thoroughly exposed," he explained, questioning the necessity of hospitalization and reports of unnecessary surgery, especially since the medical bulletin made no mention of any injury from the alleged attack.

Criticism of CPM Culture and Leadership

Further intensifying his criticism, Satheesan referenced slogans raised by a female leader during a protest march, which he claimed reveal the true culture of CPM leaders. "The slogans shouted by the leader were heard by all. Is this the culture of SFI and DYFI in Kerala, who claim to be cultured and progressive? The slogans they shouted will not be forgotten," he asserted. He also called for legal action against M V Govindan for inciting rebellion, accusing current leaders of spearheading the violence.

In conclusion, Satheesan reiterated that the CPM must be prepared to lay down arms as the public's awareness grows, emphasizing that the fabricated injury story has only served to undermine trust and fuel unrest across the state.
