According to reports, the incident occurred around 9 pm when the students were studying in the veranda of their hostel. Suddenly, a firecracker landed near them and exploded, causing immediate panic and injuries. Among the injured, one student is from Class IX, while the other three are studying in Class VIII. Hostel warden Rebati Bag confirmed that the girls suffered injuries on their hands, legs, and abdomen, highlighting the severity of the blast.

Sources indicate that a wedding procession was passing outside the school gate at the time, with members of the wedding party bursting crackers as part of the celebrations. It is believed that one of these crackers accidentally fell into the school hostel premises, leading to the explosion.
