Seeman Starts Election Campaign, Criticizes Freebies

NTK Chief Seeman Kicks Off Assembly Election Campaign in Tiruttani

In a significant political move, Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman officially commenced his campaign for the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly election on Monday. The launch took place at the historic Tiruttani Murugan Temple, where Seeman offered prayers and set the tone for his party's electoral strategy.

Criticism of Freebies and Vote-Buying Practices

During his campaign speech, Seeman launched a sharp critique against the ruling DMK and opposition AIADMK, accusing them of relying on freebies to win votes. He stated, "The election is between the parties which give away freebies and NTK, which is opposing it. The two parties are creators of the problems faced by the people of Tamil Nadu. NTK has come to solve them." Seeman emphasized that his party stands against such practices, positioning NTK as a solution-oriented alternative.

He also condemned the practice of vote for money, calling it a shameful act in a democracy. "Casting votes after receiving money is a shame. Vote is the final weapon for the common man in a democratic country," Seeman asserted, highlighting his commitment to clean politics.

Campaign Launch and Devotional Start

Seeman began the day by offering prayers at the Tiruttani Murugan Temple, where he sang a devotional song for approximately three minutes. This spiritual start underscored the cultural and traditional values that NTK often emphasizes in its campaigns. The party has become the first to officially kick off its campaign after announcing candidates for all 234 constituencies in the state.

Seeman campaigned for NTK's Tiruttani candidate, S S Chandran, rallying support and outlining the party's vision for Tamil Nadu's future.

NTK's Political Growth and Future Prospects

Reflecting on NTK's journey, Seeman recalled the party's performance in previous elections. NTK first entered the poll fray in the 2016 assembly election, securing 1.1% of the votes. By the 2024 Parliament election, the party had grown significantly, achieving 8.3% of the votes and gaining recognition from the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Seeman attributed this growth to grassroots support and ethical campaigning. "We have become the third largest party in the state without giving money to voters. We will continue that. The growth was possible only with the support of my brethren," he said, emphasizing NTK's gradual but steady rise in Tamil Nadu politics.

As the election season heats up, NTK's campaign launch signals a focused effort to challenge established parties and promote its agenda of reform and integrity.
