The West Bengal government carried out a significant reshuffle of senior IAS officers on Thursday, assigning new responsibilities across various departments and municipal corporations.
Key Appointments in Municipal Corporations and Departments
Ravi Agarwal has been appointed as the commissioner of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation. In another key move, Rajat Nanda will now serve as the senior special secretary of the Public Administration Reforms (PAR) department. Nitin Singhania has been posted as the senior special secretary of the Home and Hill Affairs department. Sujay Sarkar has been given the dual role of managing director of Tantuja and commissioner of textiles and sericulture.
Hindole Datta has been posted as the commissioner of the Asansol Municipal Corporation, while Priyadarshini S has been appointed as the special secretary of the Consumer Affairs department.
ADM-Level Transfers Across Districts
In addition to senior-level changes, the government also ordered transfers of several Additional District Magistrates (ADMs) in districts including Bankura, West Midnapore, Howrah, Jalpaiguri, and South 24 Parganas. These transfers are part of the routine administrative reshuffle aimed at improving governance efficiency.
