A shopkeeper was brutally beaten to death in broad daylight in Pinjore on Friday, prompting swift police action that led to the arrest of four suspects within hours. The victim has been identified as Jitesh Manocha, who worked at a cloth store in the Main Bazaar area.
Details of the Incident
The attack occurred around 3:15 pm when Jitesh was sitting in an acquaintance's car. The accused pulled him out of the vehicle and assaulted him with sticks, rods, and their fists, stabbing him as well. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Suspects Arrested
The police arrested four individuals in connection with the murder: Manpreet Singh alias Mani (resident of Ganeshpur Bhauria, Pinjore), Rohit Mehta alias Vicky (resident of Nangal Kalka), Manish Kumar (resident of Ratpur Colony), and Khushdeep Singh alias Dipi (resident of Manakpur Thakurdas). They were apprehended within three hours of the incident.
Motive Behind the Attack
According to police officials, the motive stemmed from a previous altercation over parking that occurred about a month ago. Following that argument, a complaint was filed, but both parties later reached a mutual settlement. However, Khushdeep Singh allegedly harbored a grudge and conspired with his associates to carry out the fatal attack.
Police Response
DCP (Crime) Amarinder Singh stated that the police received information about the assault and promptly dispatched officers to the scene. The Pinjore police station in-charge and other personnel secured the area and initiated an investigation. The deceased's father informed the police that his son Jitesh had been working with him at the cloth store and was sitting in a friend's car when the accused dragged him out and beat him mercilessly.
DCP Srishti Gupta added that Khushdeep, nursing a grudge over the parking dispute, conspired with his accomplices to execute the attack. The police are continuing their investigation to ensure all those involved are brought to justice.
