CM Siddaramaiah Calls for Social Harmony and Rational Faith at Temple Celebration
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah delivered a powerful message advocating for faith in God while firmly rejecting superstition during a significant religious event in Karnataka's Haveri district. The CM spoke at the golden jubilee celebrations of Sri Beeraeshwara Swamy Temple, which also included the inauguration of the Sri Bhakta Kanakadasa Mahadwara and Dharma Sabha in Nittur village, Ranebennur, on Sunday.
Emphasis on Unity and Equality in Society
Siddaramaiah urged the public to strengthen harmony and equality across all sections of society. He highlighted that the temple has evolved beyond being merely a local shrine for Nittur, now attracting devotees from multiple districts, symbolizing its growing spiritual significance.
The CM stressed a core philosophical point: "God is one, though worshipped under many names." This statement underscored his call for unity among diverse religious practices and communities.
Inspiration from Great Thinkers and Reformers
