AMRITSAR: Five Sikh high priests are reported to have described Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann as “anti-Panth” (opposed to the Sikh community) and “anti-Guru,” according to sources on Monday.
The reported decision was taken following a review of an alleged viral video involving Mann that purportedly showed alcohol being sprinkled on images of Sikh gurus. The religious authorities claimed to have examined and verified the footage, sources said.
As per the sources, the Sikh high priests have also advised members of the Khalsa community not to associate with the chief minister.
In a related development, the high priests are said to have summoned Sikh MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party who had allegedly supported or signed a government law linked to sacrilege-related issues.
