A tragic road accident occurred late Friday night on the Jalaun-Auraiya road in Orai, Kanpur, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and serious injuries to two others. The incident took place when a speeding car heading towards Auraiya lost control, collided with a tree, and overturned into a ditch.
Rescue Operation and Medical Response
Upon receiving information, local police immediately rushed to the accident site and initiated a rescue operation. All four occupants trapped inside the mangled car were pulled out with great effort. The injured were promptly transported to Jalaun Hospital for medical treatment. However, doctors declared two of them dead upon arrival. The two other critically injured individuals were referred to a Medical College in Orai for advanced care.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Shoaib and Ismail Sheikh. The injured are Arif Ali and Irshad. Their families have been notified, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
Eyewitness Accounts and Investigation
According to eyewitnesses, the car was moving at an extremely high speed when it suddenly lost balance. The driver failed to maintain control, causing the vehicle to directly hit a tree and then overturn into a roadside ditch. The impact was severe, leading to the tragic loss of life.
Kotwali in-charge Harishankar stated that the cause of the accident is being thoroughly investigated. Necessary legal proceedings are underway to determine any negligence or fault. Police are also coordinating with the families of the deceased to provide support.
This accident highlights the dangers of overspeeding and reckless driving on highways. Authorities urge drivers to adhere to speed limits and exercise caution to prevent such incidents.
