Tragic Discovery in Surat Apartment
A young employee of the Surat Municipal Corporation, who was also serving as a Booth Level Officer, was found dead under tragic circumstances on Monday. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and administration.
Details of the Incident
The deceased has been identified as Dinkal Singodawala, a 26-year-old technical assistant working in the Varachha Zone of the Surat Municipal Corporation. According to the Olpad police, she was residing with her husband, Mahesh, at Gruham Society in Masma village, located in the Olpad taluka.
The unfortunate discovery was made by her husband. Police sources revealed that Mahesh found Dinkal lying unconscious on the bathroom floor after she had taken an unusually long time inside. Concerned, he broke open the door and immediately rushed her to a private hospital. Tragically, she was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
Official Response and Investigation
In response to the incident, the Olpad police have registered an accidental death report and launched a full investigation to determine the exact cause of death. The body has been sent to the New Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination, the results of which are awaited.
Dinkal was actively involved in her duties as a Booth Level Officer for the ongoing SIR (Summary Revision of Electoral Roll) drive. Her assigned operational area was booth number 9 at Sir JJ School in Shahpore. Expressing grief over the incident, Surat district Deputy Collector and Area Returning Officer (ARO) of 156-Surat East, Anita Vanani, stated, "The incident saddens us as Dinkal had performed well in her duties as a BLO. She had completed over 45 per cent of her allotted work."
The sudden demise of the young official has left her colleagues and the local electoral administration in a state of mourning as they await further details from the ongoing police investigation.
