The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially declared that voting for the 234-member Tamil Nadu legislative assembly will be conducted in a single phase on April 23. The crucial counting of votes is scheduled to take place on May 4, determining the political future of the southern state.
Voter Demographics and Electoral Roll Details
According to comprehensive data released by the Election Commission of India, Tamil Nadu boasts an impressive electorate of 5.67 crore eligible voters. This substantial voting population includes 2.77 crore male voters and 2.89 crore female voters, reflecting a balanced gender distribution. The party experienced a substantial decline, winning only 66 seats compared to their previous tally of 136 seats in 2016.
