The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is preparing to leverage its upcoming Mahanadu conclave to reinforce its dual message of cadre empowerment and governance-driven development. The two-day event, scheduled to be held virtually from the party's central office on May 27 and 28, will mark the first major gathering since Nara Lokesh assumed the role of national president.
Key Resolutions and Focus Areas
HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh is expected to be the center of attention, as his slogan, "Party activist is the party supremo," is set to be adopted as a key resolution. The resolutions committee, led by former minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, finalized draft resolutions after extensive two-day deliberations covering welfare, economy, agriculture, investments, organizational strengthening, and social empowerment.
Senior leader Neelayapalem Vijaykumar stated that the resolutions aim to balance public welfare with boosting party worker morale. "The leadership strongly believes that activists are the backbone of TDP. Every resolution reflects a commitment to protecting the interests and self-respect of grassroots cadre while ensuring development reaches all sections," he said.
Investment and Economic Resolutions
One key resolution will highlight significant investments attracted by Andhra Pradesh over the past two years under the TDP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. The party plans to showcase investment proposals in sectors like information technology, renewable energy, manufacturing, ports, and industrial corridors, aiming to restore investor confidence after years of economic uncertainty.
Another resolution will detail the government's efforts to stabilize state finances despite global economic pressures and the impact of the ongoing West Asia crisis on fuel prices and revenues. The leadership intends to emphasize fiscal discipline, resource mobilization, and continued welfare delivery despite inherited financial constraints.
Social and Women-Centric Resolutions
The conclave will also adopt resolutions on women's reservation, implementation of the Sthree Shakti scheme, the ongoing land resurvey program, and issuance of pattadar passbooks with the official government emblem. The party will highlight women's central role in its foundation and growth.
Additionally, special resolutions from TDP units in Telangana and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be tabled during the sessions.
Political Resolution and Overall Message
The political resolution, traditionally the centerpiece of Mahanadu, will be finalized after consultations with TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu and national working president Nara Lokesh. Party insiders said it would strongly defend the NDA government's governance model while criticizing the opposition for alleged economic mismanagement and "destructive politics."
"The overall message of Mahanadu this year is clear — strong cadre, stable governance, and accelerated development," Vijaykumar added.
