Tej Pratap Yadav Breaks Silence on Sister's Political Exit
In a dramatic development that has sent shockwaves through Bihar's political landscape, Tej Pratap Yadav has finally broken his silence regarding his sister Rohini Acharya's sudden exit from politics. The elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav came out in strong support of his sister's decision, justifying her move and praising what he called her "remarkable sacrifice" for their family.
Family Conflict Erupts Publicly
The political drama unfolded earlier on Saturday when Rohini Acharya announced her intention to quit politics completely and disown her family. She revealed that she was taking all the blame for the party's poor performance in the recent elections, a move that has exposed deep fractures within the influential Lalu Yadav family.
Rohini Acharya made shocking allegations against her brother Tejashwi Yadav and his close aides. She claimed that when she questioned Sanjay Yadav about the party's defeat, she was "disgraced, abused, and even hit" before being thrown out of the family. "I have no family. You can go and ask this to Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, and Tejashwi Yadav. They are the ones who threw me out of the family," Rohini told reporters in her first reaction after the announcement.
Tej Pratap's Emotional Defense
Tej Pratap Yadav, who himself was expelled from the RJD a few months ago by his father, launched a passionate defense of his sister. "In her own way, she is absolutely right. The truth is that, as a woman, the kind of sacrifice she has made is something hardly any daughter or mother could do," he stated, referring to Rohini's donation of a kidney to their father Lalu Yadav.
In a warning that highlighted the intensity of the family conflict, Tej Pratap added: "Anyone who insults our sister will face the wrath of Krishna's Sudarshan Chakra." This strong statement underscores the emotional stakes involved in the ongoing family dispute.
Political Fallout and Future Implications
The announcement has created significant turmoil in Bihar politics, with many speculating about the future of the Lalu family's political dynasty. The RJD's poor performance in the Bihar assembly polls, where the party secured just 25 seats despite contesting on more than 140 seats in the 243-member state assembly, appears to have triggered the internal conflict.
Rohini Acharya claimed that the party leadership doesn't want to take responsibility for the defeat. Tej Pratap Yadav has also been consistently blaming Sanjay Yadav, whom he always calls 'Jaichand', for the troubles in both his father's party and their family.
Since his expulsion from RJD, Tej Pratap has floated a new political outfit called 'Janshakti Janata Dal', which faced a drubbing in the recent elections. The ongoing family dispute raises serious questions about the internal dynamics of the RJD and the role of family members in the party's future direction.
