Telangana Chief Minister Urges IAS Officers to Conduct Honest Assessment of Government Performance
In a significant review meeting held on Saturday, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy called upon IAS officers to conduct a thorough and honest evaluation of the achievements and shortcomings of the Congress government since its inception. This directive aims to provide a clear direction for the government's remaining tenure leading up to the upcoming assembly elections.
Emphasis on Good Governance and Public Trust
Addressing the officials, Revanth Reddy underscored the critical responsibility of all government officials to uphold the trust placed in them by the public through effective and transparent governance. "It is the duty of every official to respect the confidence shown by the people by ensuring good governance," he stated during the meeting, which focused on the 99-day 'Praja Palana-Pragati Pranalika' program.
Focus on Investment Realization and Economic Development
The Chief Minister highlighted that Telangana has secured investment commitments worth approximately Rs 8 lakh crore. He instructed the secretaries of relevant departments to ensure that these Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are effectively implemented and grounded. "The realization of these investments is crucial for achieving Telangana's developmental goals," Revanth Reddy emphasized. He further urged officials to prioritize the development of the Future City project, which is expected to significantly alter the economic trajectory of the region and the country at large.
Infrastructure and Administrative Reforms
In addition to investment matters, Revanth Reddy issued specific instructions regarding government infrastructure and employment data. He directed that comprehensive data on outsourcing and contract employees be prepared and made available by the secretaries. Furthermore, he mandated that all government offices, from the mandal level to the state level, should not operate from rented buildings. "Each department must have its own building," he asserted, suggesting that this requirement be incorporated into the upcoming budget proposals to ensure long-term stability and efficiency in administrative operations.
This review meeting marks a proactive step by the Telangana government to streamline governance, boost economic growth, and enhance public service delivery as it prepares for the electoral challenges ahead.
