The Congress government in Telangana is set to launch grand two-year anniversary celebrations across the state starting Monday, December 1, with the festivities culminating in a highly anticipated friendly football match featuring global icon Lionel Messi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Statewide District Celebrations Schedule
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka made the formal announcement during a media conference at the secretariat, which was attended by CM Revanth Reddy, cabinet colleagues, government advisors, and officials. The celebrations will begin at Makthal in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district on December 1, followed by a series of district-level events throughout the week.
The chief minister will personally attend each district program and public meeting between 2 pm and 4 pm, returning to Hyderabad the same day. The detailed schedule includes:
- Kothagudem (Khammam) on December 2
- Husnabad (Karimnagar) on December 3
- Adilabad town (Adilabad) on December 4
- Narasampet (Warangal) on December 5
- Devarakonda (Nalgonda) on December 6
At these events, CM Revanth Reddy is expected to highlight the Congress government's achievements and outline upcoming development and welfare schemes for the state.
Major Events and Vision 2047 Summit
The celebrations will feature several landmark events, including grand festivities at the historic Osmania University on December 7, where the chief minister will lay foundation stones for major development works on the campus. He will also hold discussions with intellectuals on key issues related to the education system and participate in the university celebrations.
The government is preparing for the significant 'Telangana Rising 2047 Global Summit' on December 8 and 9 at Bharat Future City. On December 8, a presentation on the government's two-year performance will be made, followed by a detailed presentation on future plans on December 9, when the Vision Document–2047 will be formally released.
"We will release a Vision Documentary outlining how Telangana will be transformed into a three-trillion US dollar economy and the developmental roadmap for the coming years," Bhatti stated during the announcement.
Messi Match and Public Engagement
The celebrations will reach their climax with a friendly football match between Team Messi and Team Revanth Reddy at Hyderabad's Uppal Stadium on December 13. This high-profile event will also showcase Telangana's Vision-2047 to a global audience.
IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu revealed that the vision document was prepared after extensive public consultations. "A total of 70 meetings were conducted, and the opinions of four lakh people — including youth — were gathered, accounting for 1% of the state's population. The Congress government is balancing welfare and development," he explained.
Global leaders and achievers — institutions and individuals who have excelled across sectors in India and abroad — will attend the summit and witness the unveiling of the Telangana Vision. Exhibition stalls will be open for public viewing on December 10, 11, and 12, allowing citizens to see the state's progress and roadmap firsthand.
