Telangana Congress Slams Pawan Kalyan Over State Formation Remarks

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress has strongly criticized Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for his recent comments on the state's formation. TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir accused the actor-turned-politician of echoing the rhetoric of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mahesh Goud questioned Pawan Kalyan's discomfort with the creation of Telangana, while Shabbir Ali emphasized that Telangana has completed 12 years since its formation and the issue of statehood was permanently resolved through a constitutional and democratic process. "Pawan Kalyan is deliberately reviving an old issue to stir emotions and gain political traction in Telangana, where people have already rejected him and his party," Shabbir Ali stated.

On his part, Mahesh Goud accused Pawan Kalyan of a history of belittling Telangana's formation and advised him not to trivialize it for political gains. "Where was Jana Sena during the Telangana statehood movement? Pawan Kalyan should understand this is not a movie where he can deliver dialogues without responsibility. As a politician, he must show maturity, understanding, and respect for history. He should first study the history of Congress and the contributions and sacrifices of the Nehru-Gandhi family before making comments against the party," the TPCC president said.

Both Mahesh Goud and Shabbir Ali asserted that the two states should collaborate for development and welfare. However, they warned that if anyone targets Telangana for political gains, the Congress party would respond strongly.
