Thieves Steal 73 Taps from Congress Office in Chhattisgarh
In a bizarre incident that has left local politicians scratching their heads, thieves broke into the Congress party office in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, and stole 73 taps. The incident occurred late Tuesday night, and the theft was discovered on Wednesday morning when party workers arrived at the office.
The thieves not only made off with the taps but also left a handwritten note that read, 'I Love Ambikapur'. The note was found pinned to the wall of the office. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
According to the police, the thieves entered the office by breaking the lock of the main door. They specifically targeted the taps, which were stored in a room. The total value of the stolen taps is estimated to be around Rs 50,000.
Congress party officials expressed shock over the incident. 'It is a strange theft. Why would anyone steal taps? And the note adds to the mystery,' said a local party leader. The police are examining CCTV footage from the area and questioning nearby residents to identify the culprits.
This is not the first time such a peculiar theft has occurred in the region. Last year, a similar incident was reported from a nearby village where thieves stole pipes and left a similar note. Police suspect that the same gang might be involved.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police have assured that they will soon nab the accused. Meanwhile, the Congress office has been provided with additional security.
