A devastating head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle on the Bahadurganj–Thakurganj road (NH-327E) in Kishanganj, Bihar, late Friday night has claimed three lives. According to police reports, the accident took place when Shadab Alam, a 30-year-old resident of Tarabari, was traveling on his motorcycle from his home towards Lohagadda for urgent work after performing Taraweeh prayers. A fast-moving four-wheeler, coming from the Thakurganj direction, collided head-on with his motorcycle. The impact was severe, resulting in Shadab's immediate death at the scene.
Two pedestrians, identified as Shah Alam (26) and Nazir Ahmed, both from Khaikhat, were also critically injured in the collision. They were rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries later. The car driver fled the spot with the vehicle, leaving behind a scene of chaos and grief.
Police Investigation and Response
Upon receiving information, a team of police officials, including Bahadurganj police station in-charge Sandeep Kumar, Pauakhali police station in-charge Ankit Kumar Singh, and ADPO Gautam Kumar, arrived at the location with their teams to initiate an investigation. The bodies of the deceased were sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examinations, while the motorcycle involved was seized for further forensic analysis. One injured individual is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital, according to police statements.
SHO Sandeep Kumar confirmed that the families of the deceased have been notified, and the bodies were handed over to them after the post-mortem procedures. "A detailed probe is underway, and efforts are on to trace the car’s driver. An FIR for rash and negligent driving has been lodged, and officials are examining CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and its registration details," he added, emphasizing the seriousness of the investigation.
