Tragic Accident on Under-Construction Bridge Claims Three Lives in Bhopal
A devastating road accident on Monday morning resulted in the deaths of three laborers and left seven others injured when the pickup truck transporting them to a construction site overturned on an under-construction bridge along National Highway 44 in Bhopal.
Details of the Fatal Crash
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. under the jurisdiction of the Suatala police station near the Barman outpost. According to authorities, the vehicle, which was carrying ten workers from Surla Khapa village in Chhindwara district, suddenly swerved out of control before violently colliding with a concrete divider and flipping over.
Ashish Bopche, the in-charge at the Barman police outpost, confirmed the tragic fatalities: Khusmaniya Bai Thakur, aged 50, and Bharat Thakur, aged 45, died instantly at the scene. Ratan Thakur, aged 60, later succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
Investigation and Aftermath
Following the accident, three of the injured individuals remained in critical condition and were receiving care at a nearby medical facility. Police investigators have registered a formal case and have initiated a thorough probe to determine the exact cause of the crash.
The workers were en route to a road construction project in the Narsinghpur highway area when the tragedy struck. This incident highlights the ongoing risks faced by laborers traveling to construction sites across the region.
