Tragic Highway Crash Claims Lives of Three Pune Youths in Gujarat

In a devastating early morning incident, three young men from Pune, Maharashtra, lost their lives in a horrific road accident on the Indore-Ahmedabad highway near Dahod district, Gujarat. The fatal crash occurred near Dhadhela village in Limkheda taluka, leaving the local community and authorities in shock.

Details of the Catastrophic Accident

The accident took place around 3 am when an SUV, reportedly traveling at an extremely high speed, lost control. The vehicle first struck a road divider before violently swerving off the highway. It then crossed a stormwater channel and an open space alongside the road, ultimately colliding with an electricity pole with tremendous force.

The impact was so severe that the engine of the SUV detached and was thrown several meters ahead of the wreckage. Other car parts were scattered across the area, painting a grim picture of the collision's intensity. All three occupants were trapped inside the mangled remains of the vehicle, requiring significant effort from rescue teams to extract them.

Victims Identified and Medical Response

Paramedics at the scene declared two individuals dead immediately. They were identified as Abhishek Yadav (26) and Sachin Biradar (27). The third occupant, Tejas Dagde (26), was found alive during the initial examination and was rushed to a hospital in Limkheda for urgent treatment.

Due to the seriousness of his injuries, Dagde was referred to a larger hospital in Dahod. Tragically, he succumbed to his wounds after receiving brief medical care, bringing the total death toll to three. The Limkheda police arrived promptly, identifying the deceased using official documents they were carrying.

Police Investigation and Statements

Police Inspector B K Chavda provided crucial insights into the incident and the victims' journey. "The families of the deceased have been contacted," Chavda stated, adding that a formal offense will be registered once a relative files a complaint.

Chavda revealed that the trio had traveled from Pune to Odisha before visiting Ujjain's Mahakaal temple. "They were en route to Somnath from Ujjain when the accident occurred," he explained. "Based on the extensive damage to both the electricity pole and the car, it is evident that the vehicle was moving at an extremely high speed."

Further analysis by the police indicated that the accident site features a slight turn in the road. "For some reason, the driver failed to negotiate this turn properly, leading to the catastrophic crash," Chavda pointed out, emphasizing the dangers of speeding on highways.

Community and Safety Implications

This tragic event underscores the critical importance of road safety, particularly on high-speed highways. The loss of three young lives has sent ripples of grief through their families in Pune and the local communities in Gujarat. Authorities continue to investigate the exact circumstances, while advocates call for increased awareness about responsible driving to prevent such future tragedies.
