Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has announced the formation of a special task force named 'Singa Pen Sirappu Force' to enhance women's safety across the state. The decision comes in the wake of rising concerns over crimes against women, particularly in Chennai. The force will focus on rapid response and prevention, deploying specialized teams in high-risk areas.
Key Features of the Force
The 'Singa Pen Sirappu Force' will consist of trained personnel equipped with modern technology to monitor and respond to incidents. It will operate 24/7 and collaborate with local police stations. The force will also conduct awareness programs in schools and colleges.
Strict Measures Ordered
CM Vijay has directed law enforcement to ensure zero tolerance towards crimes against women. He emphasized the need for swift justice and better infrastructure, including increased CCTV surveillance and improved street lighting. The government will also set up a dedicated helpline for women in distress.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to make Tamil Nadu a safer place for women. The state government has allocated additional funds for the force's operations and training. Citizens have welcomed the move, hoping it will lead to a significant reduction in crimes.
