Chennai: PWD minister Aadhav Arjuna has dared former deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for a debate on Ambedkar at an upcoming event. Speaking at a TVK public meeting organised at Chengalpet on Sunday, he said the event will be organised by former AIADMK MLA Maragatham Kumaravel to induct her supporters into TVK. Maragatham Kumaravel joined TVK recently.
Stating that more than half a dozen state ministers vowed to end DMK as well as AIADMK, he said the party will ensure that C Joseph Vijay remains the ‘permanent chief minister’ of Tamil Nadu. Launching a caustic attack on AIADMK and DMK, alleging that the two parties have entered an ‘alliance with each other.’ “They will soon merge together,” he said.
“There are talks in AIADMK to promote the party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami’s son Mithun in the party. Soon you will see the merger of DMK and AIADMK in the presence of Udhayanidhi and Mithun,” he said. AIADMK cadres have understood this and hence were joining TVK every Saturday, he added.
Aadhav also said TVK and AIADMK are the same. “We should stop saying that AIADMK is a sinking boat. Now AIADMK and TVK are the same. We can say EPS is sinking. AIADMK cadres have understood his motives and they are now joining TVK,” Aadhav said.
Aadhav challenged Udhayanidhi for a debate on Ambedkar. “Has DMK ever spoken about Ambedkar? I am ready to debate about Ambedkar with Udhayanidhi on the same stage. Is Udhayanidhi ready?” Aadhav questioned.
State HR and CE minister S Ramesh said TVK cadres would make an opposition party free assembly a reality. “We will win all 234 segments and make the assembly free from opposition,” Ramesh said.
State revenue minister K A Sengottaiyan said soon AIADMK will disappear in TN. “Nobody can save the sinking ship called AIADMK,” he said. “More MLAs and former ministers will come to TVK from AIADMK,” he said.
Rural development minister N Anand hit out at DMK. “TVK is not a party that strives for the welfare of one family. Instead TVK works for the welfare of every family in TN,” he said.
