A tragic incident occurred in Jaipur's Siddharth Nagar area on Thursday evening, where a 13-month-old girl lost her life after being allegedly run over by a car. The police have confirmed the details of the accident, which has left the family and the community in shock.
Details of the Incident
The accident took place around 5 pm when the child, identified as Kittu, was playing outside her house near the roadside along with other children. Kajal Thakuria, a lecturer at a private university in Jaipur and a resident of the same neighborhood, was reversing her car when the child allegedly came under the rear wheel, according to a police officer.
Immediate Response and Hospitalization
The family quickly rushed the injured child to EHCC Hospital using the same vehicle involved in the accident. Despite medical efforts, she was declared dead nearly two hours later during treatment. The news of her death sparked outrage among the family members, who staged a protest outside the hospital, demanding the immediate arrest of the driver.
Police Action
The police have stated that a formal complaint is being recorded, and further investigation will be initiated. The driver, Kajal Thakuria, is yet to be arrested as the legal process unfolds.
