The two deceased have been identified as Hanamant Durgappa Haged, 10, and Basavaraj Ramesh Somannavar, 10. According to preliminary information, the boys had accompanied Hanamant's father for herding sheep. During this time, Hanamant and his friend Basavaraj decided to take a swim in a nearby canal.
