Two children from Kanpur's Rajkiya Bal Sudhar Grih (Government Children's Correction Home) fled on Wednesday after being sent to a nearby school for studies. An FIR was registered at Kalyanpur police station, officials confirmed.
Details of the Incident
One child was from Kanpur and the other from Fatehpur. Both were previously found in Delhi and subsequently sent to the Rajkiya Balak Grih in Kalyanpur. The children were enrolled in a nearby school as part of their rehabilitation program.
On Wednesday morning around 10 o'clock, both children were sent to school as usual. However, around noon, they escaped from the school premises. The authorities were immediately informed, prompting the staff to begin a search operation.
Superintendent Ratan lodged an FIR at the Kalyanpur police station. District Probation Officer Vikas Singh stated that the police are actively searching for both children. The exact circumstances of their escape are under investigation.
This incident raises concerns about the security measures at the correctional home and the supervision of children during school hours. Authorities are expected to review protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
