A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning in Ghabra village under the Sikandarpur Vaish police station limits in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj district, where a house roof collapsed during a sudden storm and heavy rainfall, resulting in the deaths of two children and injuries to three others.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the roof of a house belonging to Jitesh Kumar (28), an e-rickshaw driver, gave way amid the intense weather conditions. All family members were inside at the time of the collapse and became trapped under the debris. Jitesh's five-year-old daughter, Sonali, and his six-month-old son, Abhishek, died on the spot.
Villagers quickly responded to the emergency and rescued Jitesh, his wife Neelam (24), and his sister Babita (26), who sustained injuries. A team from the revenue department has reached the site and initiated an inquiry into the incident. Authorities are currently assessing the damage and are expected to provide assistance to the affected family.

ASP Kasganj Sushil Kumar stated, “On receiving information that two children had died and three people were injured due to the collapse of an old house during a severe storm in the Sikandarpur Vaishya police station area, police reached the spot and shifted the injured to the district hospital. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.”
