Bokaro: Two persons, including a school student, were killed and several others were injured in a road accident on National Highway-19 in Giridih district on Monday.
Victims Identified
The deceased were identified as Mehak Parveen, 6, a resident of Ghanghri, and Pyari alias Butani Saw, 40, from Vishnugarh's Chautha village.
Accident Details
According to Circle Officer Praveen Kumar, the accident occurred near Ghanghri under Bagodar police station when a passenger vehicle and a car, travelling in the same direction, collided while attempting to overtake each other.
Police said Mehak Parveen, who was returning home after descending from her school bus, was run over by the car and died on the spot. Pyari Saw, travelling in the passenger vehicle, succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Injuries and Hospitalization
At least seven people, including a woman, were critical at nearby hospitals. Residents blocked NH-19 over ambulance delay; police soon cleared it.
