They were identified as Ignatius Sherry, 24, son of Fransisco Fernandes, a resident of Fatorda, and Harjit Singh Danu, a native of Uttarakhand who was currently residing at Uttorda. The canal, situated near Don Bosco High School, is a popular spot among youngsters who frequently visit to bathe in its waters.

However, local sources have issued stern warnings about this particular stretch of the canal. It is deceptively deep, creating a serious hazard for unsuspecting bathers. Despite its inviting appearance, the water conceals treacherous depths that can quickly turn fatal.
