In a tragic incident on Thursday evening, two youths lost their lives and another sustained injuries when the motorcycle they were riding triple on collided with the median of the Harur-Salem road near Pappireddipatti in Dharmapuri district.
Details of the accident
The deceased have been identified as Vignesh S, 23, and Madhankumar M, 19, both residents of Elandakottapatti. Their friend, Sundaram S, 23, suffered injuries in the accident. According to an officer at the Pappireddipatti police station, the incident occurred when the trio reached near Kumarakottam wheat mill. Vignesh, who was riding the motorcycle, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to ram the road median. The impact threw all three off the two-wheeler.
Immediate aftermath
Vignesh and Madhankumar died on the spot due to the severity of the injuries. Sundaram, who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to Pappireddipatti Government Hospital for first aid. Later, he was transferred to Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
