Kottayam: The district leadership of the United Democratic Front (UDF) is actively working to resolve the internal issues within the ruling UDF in Pala municipality. UDF leaders have reached out to independent front members and Congress councillors to mediate the ongoing dispute.
Efforts to Restore Harmony
Congress leaders tasked with resolving the conflict have urged those who have publicly aired their differences to exercise restraint moving forward. The UDF leadership has appealed to all allied party councillors not to allow a trivial matter to disrupt municipal administration.
Challenges in Resolution
However, Congress councillors sticking to their previous stance are posing an obstacle to a swift resolution. The top Congress leadership believes that a settlement can be reached on all such matters through dialogue.
In the first phase, leaders are exploring the possibility of withdrawing cases filed against each other to ease tensions. Although no official discussions took place on Friday, leaders held phone conversations with Congress councillors. Some Congress leaders also contacted independent front members.
BJP Protests
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a march to the municipality, protesting against the administrative deadlock in Pala Municipality.
