Udhayanidhi Stalin Frames Election as 'Team Delhi' Versus 'Team Tamil Nadu' Battle

In a fiery address at a DMK youth wing meeting in Dindigul on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin declared that the upcoming Lok Sabha election represents a direct clash between 'Team Delhi' and 'Team Tamil Nadu.' His remarks came during an election consultative gathering for functionaries from Dindigul and Theni districts, where he confidently predicted victory for the Tamil Nadu-based alliance.

Sharp Criticism of AIADMK's Allegiance to Delhi

Udhayanidhi launched a scathing attack on the opposition AIADMK, specifically targeting its general secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami. "AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami visits Amit Shah's office in Delhi so frequently that he has forgotten his own office is in Chennai," he stated, painting a picture of the party's current state as overly dependent on central BJP leadership.

He further emphasized that the AIADMK alliance "has neither warranty nor guarantee," questioning its reliability and autonomy. Drawing a parallel to recent political maneuvers in Bihar, Udhayanidhi pointed out how the BJP sidelined Nitish Kumar after electoral success to seize power. "If this is the plight of Nitish Kumar, who served as chief minister ten times, one must consider the situation of 'Paatham-thaangi' Palaniswami," he added, using a Tamil term implying subservience.

Confident Prediction of DMK Alliance Victory

Asserting the strength of the DMK-led coalition, Udhayanidhi claimed it is widely recognized and trusted by the people of Tamil Nadu. "Regardless of how many teams—be it BJP, its 'B-team,' or 'C-team'—contest against us, the DMK alliance is the one that will emerge victorious," he declared, dismissing any challenge from rival factions as inconsequential.

He later participated in a similar meeting in Madurai, organized for youth wing functionaries from Virudhunagar and Madurai districts, reinforcing his message across the region.

Vehicle Inspections During Campaign Travel

In a related development, Udhayanidhi's campaign movements faced scrutiny from election authorities. On Monday night, while en route to Dindigul, his car was checked by a static surveillance team at the Kalvarpatti checkpost near Vedasandur. Subsequently, during his travel from Dindigul to Madurai, election flying squad officials inspected his vehicle at the Kodai Road tollgate, highlighting the heightened security and monitoring during the election period.

This incident underscores the intense political atmosphere in Tamil Nadu as parties gear up for the crucial Lok Sabha polls, with Udhayanidhi positioning the DMK as the true representative of Tamil Nadu's interests against perceived external influences from Delhi.
