Udhayanidhi Stalin Urges DMK Cadres to Intensify Campaigning in Final Election Days
Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, on Saturday declared the upcoming election as critically important to prevent what he termed "Sanghi and slave forces" from gaining entry into the state. Addressing a campaign meeting in Pudukkottai, he called upon party workers to ramp up their efforts in the final days leading to the polls.
Strong Criticism of AIADMK Leadership
During the event, which was held in support of Karur candidate M Thiagarajan and Aravakurichi candidate R Elango, Udhayanidhi displayed a photograph showing AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami at the feet of V K Sasikala. He used this visual to reinforce his accusations, stating, "This is how he became chief minister. That is why I keep saying he is a number one slave. It is important to prevent him and the ‘Sanghi' forces from entering Tamil Nadu."
He emphasized that the electoral battle is fundamentally about Tamil Nadu versus Delhi, urging cadres to engage with voters at the grassroots level. "For the next five days, all of you should work towards that. Meet people in your streets and neighbourhoods and tell them about the success of our schemes," he advised.
Highlighting DMK Government's Achievements
Udhayanidhi took the opportunity to showcase the performance of the DMK government under Chief Minister M K Stalin. He revealed that projects and welfare measures worth ₹5,000 crore had been implemented in Karur district alone during the party's five-year tenure. This substantial investment underscores the administration's commitment to regional development and public welfare.
Addressing the HR&CE Land Issue
On the contentious HR&CE land matter, Udhayanidhi provided an update, noting that a special revenue officer has been appointed to examine the issue thoroughly. He assured attendees that the government is working towards a mutually acceptable resolution, aiming to address concerns while maintaining fairness and transparency.
Selective Focus in Campaign Speech
Notably, Udhayanidhi's address did not include any references to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, its leader Vijay, or the tragic stampede from last year that resulted in 41 fatalities and over 100 injuries. This omission suggests a strategic focus on current political rivals and governance achievements rather than other parties or past incidents.
Continued Campaign Efforts
Following the meeting in Pudukkottai, Udhayanidhi proceeded to campaign at Krishnarayapuram Bazaar. There, he actively sought votes for DMK candidate C K Raja in the Krishnarayapuram assembly constituency, demonstrating the party's concerted push across multiple regions in the final stretch before the election.
