Acting on the Chief Minister's instructions, authorities across 17 municipal bodies have been tasked with an urgent assignment. They must immediately compile detailed lists of all suspicious foreign workers living or employed within their respective jurisdictions. The government has issued a stern warning, making it clear that no infiltrator using forged documents to settle in Uttar Pradesh will be spared from legal action.
Plans for Detention Centers and Document Verification
The crackdown is being executed in a phased manner. In the initial phase, police commissioners and inspectors general have been instructed to identify suitable locations for establishing dedicated detention facilities. These centers will house illegal foreign nationals until the completion of their deportation process. Potential sites being shortlisted include vacant government buildings, community centres, police lines, and unused police stations.
These facilities are slated to be converted into high-security zones with provisions for round-the-clock monitoring. The move comes alongside a large-scale verification drive of identity documents. Officials revealed that this step was prompted after detecting multiple attempts by Rohingya and Bangladeshi individuals to illegally procure crucial Indian documents like Aadhaar cards and voter IDs to pose as local residents.
