Uttar Pradesh Government Greenlights Major Infrastructure Projects in Eastern Region
The Uttar Pradesh state government has taken a significant step towards enhancing transportation infrastructure in its eastern districts by approving substantial funding for two critical projects. Railway Overbridge in Balrampur District
In a major development, the state government has sanctioned a budget of Rs 292 crore for the construction of a railway overbridge in Balrampur district. This project is specifically designed to address the persistent traffic issues on the Balrampur-Bahraich-Shrawasti route.
The proposed two-lane bridge will be built over an existing railway crossing that frequently experiences closures due to train movements between the Balrampur and Jharkhandi railway stations. By constructing this overbridge, authorities aim to significantly decongest the route, ensuring smoother and more reliable travel for commuters and commercial vehicles alike.
Road Upgrade in Piprahawa, Siddharth Nagar District
Additionally, the government has allocated Rs 261 crore to upgrade road connectivity in Piprahawa, a town located in Siddharth Nagar district. This area is strategically positioned adjacent to the Nepal border, making it a crucial point for cross-border travel and trade.
The project involves widening the existing road linking Piprahawa to Kapilvastu, a renowned Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal, into a four-lane state highway.
