The Uttar Pradesh government has officially approved the relocation of the deputy registrar's office from Ghaziabad to Noida. This move comes in response to a formal request from the state registrar's office, aiming to streamline administrative functions for the districts of Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida).
Details of the Office Relocation
Currently situated near the Guldhar metro station in Ghaziabad, the deputy registrar's office will now be based in Noida. However, the exact location of the new office premises has not been finalized yet. The office is responsible for the registration, administration, and regulation of various entities under state acts, including:
- Societies
- Partnership firms
- Chit funds
- Resident welfare associations (RWAs)
In an order dated February 13, Special Secretary Shiv Singh communicated the Governor's approval for this relocation to the registrar. The office will also be officially renamed to reflect its new location in Noida.
Continuity of Services and Historical Context
To ensure minimal disruption for residents and applicants, the deputy registrar's office will maintain weekly sittings in Ghaziabad. Vaibhav Kumar, the deputy registrar for both Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar, confirmed this arrangement, stating, "We will continue to hold weekly sittings in Ghaziabad as before to ensure that applicants and office-bearers from the district do not face inconvenience. However, the official communication address of the department will change to GB Nagar."
This relocation marks a significant administrative shift, as the two districts have shared a single deputy registrar post since its creation in 2023. Prior to this, society-related matters for the region were handled from Meerut, highlighting the evolving governance structure in Uttar Pradesh.
