Uttar Pradesh Oil Industry Confirms Normal Fuel Supply Amid Global Unrest
In a reassuring statement issued on Wednesday, the State Level Coordinator (SLC) for the Oil Industry in Uttar Pradesh has confirmed that the availability of LPG and petroleum products across the state remains normal and adequate, despite the ongoing geopolitical tensions globally. This announcement comes as a response to potential concerns about supply chain disruptions due to international conflicts.
Robust LPG Distribution Network in Uttar Pradesh
According to an official press note released by the SLC, Uttar Pradesh boasts a comprehensive LPG distribution system that is fully operational. The state is served by a total of 4,143 LPG distributors, who cater to approximately 4.85 lakh consumers. This extensive network is supported by 36 bottling plants, where oil marketing companies (OMCs) are maintaining an average stock of about four days, aligning perfectly with standard operational requirements.
Sanjay Bhandari, the State Level Coordinator, provided detailed insights into the daily operations. He revealed that an average of 10 to 11 lakh LPG bookings are received daily across Uttar Pradesh. Against this high demand, nearly seven lakh cylinders are delivered every day, ensuring a smooth and efficient supply chain. Bhandari emphasized that the LPG supply system is functioning seamlessly, with no reported disruptions.
Consumer Advisory for Uninterrupted LPG Supply
To maintain this uninterrupted supply, consumers have been advised to exercise prudence in their bookings. "We are requesting LPG consumers to book refills strictly as per actual requirement and only after 25 days from the last cylinder delivery, to ensure uninterrupted supply to all households," stated Bhandari. This measure is aimed at preventing unnecessary strain on the distribution network and ensuring equitable access for all households in the state.
Petrol and Diesel Availability Remains Strong
Turning to fuel availability, the SLC highlighted that Uttar Pradesh's petroleum infrastructure is equally robust. Approximately 13,168 petrol pumps are currently operating across the state. These retail outlets are well-stocked, holding an average of five days of petrol and diesel stock. Additionally, oil company depots have built up significant reserves, maintaining an extra 16 to 17 days of stock.
This strategic storage ensures a total availability of around 20 to 22 days of fuel, which is notably higher than the normal operating levels. Bhandari confirmed that supplies of petrol and diesel are continuing without any disruption at all retail outlets, providing a buffer against potential supply chain issues.
Public Urged to Avoid Panic Buying and Hoarding
In light of these assurances, the SLC has issued a strong caution against panic buying and hoarding. The coordinator stressed that there is no disruption in the supply chain for either LPG or petroleum products. The public has been urged to purchase these essential fuels only as per their actual requirements and to maintain sensible consumption patterns.
"Public cooperation is essential to ensure smooth and efficient supply of essential fuels across the state," the press note emphasized. Consumers are advised not to pay attention to rumors and to rely on official communications for accurate information regarding fuel availability.
By following these guidelines and avoiding unnecessary stockpiling, residents can help sustain the stable supply situation, ensuring that all households and businesses in Uttar Pradesh continue to have access to these critical energy resources without interruption.
