Uttar Pradesh Achieves Unprecedented Development Under Modi-Yogi Leadership: Minister
Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh has achieved unprecedented development under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, stated MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan on Wednesday. The minister inaugurated a grand exhibition marking the completion of nine years of the UP government, themed ‘9 Years of Construction’.
Infrastructure and Law and Order Transformation
A clear difference between Uttar Pradesh before 2017 and the present day is reflected in the infrastructure, law and order, and effective implementation of public welfare schemes in the state, he added. The minister emphasized that the construction of expressways, highways, and rural roads has significantly improved connectivity across the region.
Enhanced Connectivity and Industrial Development
With the Jewar Airport set to open soon, air connectivity will also see a substantial boost. Several flights are now being operated from Kanpur, enhancing regional accessibility. The Dedicated Freight Corridor and the industrial hub developed in Bhimsen are providing new impetus to industrial development, creating opportunities for economic growth.
Kanpur District's Development Momentum
Highlighting the achievements of Kanpur district, Sachan noted that development has gained new momentum since 2017. So far, 252 projects have been completed and made useful for the public at a cost of Rs 1,503.89 crore. Key energy projects like the Ghatampur Thermal Project and the Panki Extension are creating a new identity for the area.
Key Infrastructure Projects
The Kidwai Nagar-Govind Nagar 220 kV substation is now complete, ensuring reliable power supply. The Kanpur Metro, operating from IIT-K to Kanpur Central, has become the district's new identity, with remaining work progressing rapidly. Other notable achievements include:
- The Defence Corridor, boosting strategic infrastructure.
- The Sports Hub, promoting athletic excellence.
- The new Green Park gallery, enhancing cultural and recreational spaces.
Economic and Agricultural Advancements
The modern Parag Dairy Plant in Govind Nagar will begin processing 400,000 liters of milk per day starting in April, supporting local agriculture and dairy industries. On the state's power supply, Sachan stated that uninterrupted power for 18 to 24 hours is being ensured, a significant improvement from previous years.
Budget Growth and Public Recognition
The state's budget has increased from Rs 3.9 lakh crore in 2016 to more than Rs 9.1 lakh crore, boosting development work across sectors. Beneficiaries of various schemes were honored during the program, acknowledging their contributions to the state's progress.

The Information and Public Relations department's exhibition specifically highlighted the state's transformation and development journey, showcasing milestones and future plans. This event served as a platform to reflect on the achievements and outline ongoing initiatives for sustained growth.
