Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an unannounced inspection at the Dalanwala police station on Friday. During this visit, he discovered that the Station Officer was not present at his post. Taking a serious view of this lapse, CM Dhami directed the officer's immediate transfer to the police lines as a disciplinary measure.
He emphasized that negligence in critical areas like law and order and public service would not be tolerated by his government. The Chief Minister warned that strict action would continue to be taken against officials found derelict in their duties.
CM Reviews Functioning and Hears Public Grievances
During his visit to the police station, CM Dhami did not limit himself to checking attendance. He carried out a detailed review of the station's functioning to assess its operational efficiency. Furthermore, he took time to interact with several complainants who were present at the station.
He listened to their grievances firsthand, reinforcing the government's commitment to responsive and accessible public service mechanisms at the grassroots level.
Separate Discussion on Human-Wildlife Conflict
In a related development focusing on another key governance issue, Chief Minister Dhami held a telephonic conversation with Union Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Bhupendra Yadav.
The leaders discussed the pressing challenge of increasing human-wildlife conflict incidents in Uttarakhand. CM Dhami informed the Union Minister about the various measures being undertaken by the state government and its forest department to address this complex problem.
He also sought additional resources and support from the central government to enhance the state's mitigation efforts. In response, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav assured all possible assistance from the Centre.
Yadav stressed the importance of a multi-pronged approach involving scientific management, the deployment of modern technology, and the establishment of a prompt relief mechanism for affected communities.
