The agenda is packed with projects designed to enhance recreational facilities and core urban infrastructure. Major Recreational and Beautification Projects
Among the headline proposals are the construction of two new public swimming pools. One is planned for the Akota area and another for Manjalpur, with each facility estimated to cost approximately Rs 12.37 crore. In a boost to wellness infrastructure, a dedicated yoga centre is proposed for the Sayajipura locality at an estimated cost of Rs 2.06 crore.
Further enhancing the city's aesthetics and environment, the civic body plans to undertake the beautification of Vadsar pond. This project is slated to incur an expenditure of around Rs 5.63 crore.
Core Infrastructure Works on the Agenda
Beyond recreational projects, the proposal includes substantial investment in essential city services. The meeting's agenda lists approval for:
- 14 separate road works to improve connectivity and commuting.
- Two major drainage line projects aimed at solving waterlogging and sewage issues.
- Three critical water supply works to ensure better distribution and access for residents.
Given the proximity to the civic polls, political observers and residents anticipate that the majority of these Rs 230 crore worth of projects will receive the green light from the elected representatives.
