TVK Leader Joseph Vijay Alleges Systematic Campaign Sabotage by DMK Government
In a significant development during the ongoing election period, TVK president Joseph Vijay has made serious allegations against the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu. On Saturday, Vijay took to social media platform X to voice his concerns about what he described as deliberate attempts to confuse the public and disrupt his party's campaign activities.
Allegations of Official Interference in Election Campaign
Joseph Vijay specifically accused the DMK government of utilizing officials under its control to create pressure and obstacles for TVK's election campaign. "The DMK government is using certain officials under its control to create pressure and obstacles, not just for us but also for our candidates," he stated in his post. This marks a direct confrontation between the emerging political force and the established ruling party in Tamil Nadu.
Pattern of Permission Delays and Last-Minute Cancellations
The TVK leader detailed specific instances of what he called systematic interference. "They delay permissions until the last moment, preventing us from making proper arrangements for our campaign events," Vijay explained. He further alleged that authorities frequently cancel approvals for TVK's campaign events at the eleventh hour, creating logistical chaos for the party's election machinery.
According to Vijay, these tactics are accompanied by what he described as misleading media reports about permissions and cancellations. "They spread misleading reports in the media about permissions and cancellations to confuse the public," he claimed, suggesting a coordinated effort to undermine TVK's electoral prospects through administrative and media channels.
Vijay Warns of 'Silent Revolution' Across Tamil Nadu
Despite these challenges, Vijay painted a picture of growing grassroots support for his party. He revealed that TVK's outreach has transcended conventional campaign methods, evolving into what he called a mass movement. "Across Tamil Nadu, people themselves are voluntarily carrying out campaigning in support of TVK, turning it into a mass movement in every household," he declared with evident enthusiasm.
The TVK president went further to suggest that this organic support represents something more profound than typical election enthusiasm. "People are preparing for a silent revolution," he stated, using language that suggests fundamental political change might be brewing in the state.
Call for Vigilance and Restraint Among Supporters
Addressing his supporters directly, Vijay issued a cautionary message about remaining alert during this critical election period. "Let us stay alert and not trust these actors," he urged, referring to those he believes are attempting to undermine TVK's campaign through various means.
Vijay emphasized that such attempts to confuse people during elections were not unprecedented, but stressed the importance of cadre vigilance. "Such attempts were not new but that it was the cadres' duty to remain alert," he reminded his party workers, highlighting the need for constant awareness in what he portrayed as a challenging political environment.
The allegations come at a crucial juncture in Tamil Nadu's political landscape, with TVK positioning itself as a significant challenger to established parties. Vijay's statements reflect growing tensions between new political entrants and the existing administrative machinery during election season, raising questions about the fairness of the electoral process and the autonomy of government officials in campaign-related matters.
