In a significant political development, actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has officially declared its candidates for the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections. The party's founder, Vijay, will contest from two crucial constituencies: Perambur in Chennai and Trichy East in Trichy, marking a strategic move to strengthen TVK's presence in urban and central regions of the state.

Beyond Vijay's candidacy, TVK has unveiled a diverse slate of candidates for various constituencies. The party's general secretary, N Anand, will stand from T Nagar in Chennai, while treasurer Venkataraman will contest from Mylapore. In a notable inclusion, expelled AIADMK leader KA Sengottaiyan, who recently joined TVK, will contest from the Gobichettipalayam constituency. Former IRS officer and the party's propaganda secretary, KG Arunraj, will represent TVK from Tiruchengode. The party's deputy general secretaries, CTR Nirmal Kumar and Raj Mohan, will contest from Tirupparankundram and Egmore constituencies, respectively, rounding out a robust lineup aimed at challenging established political forces.
