The ambitious Viksit Uttar Pradesh-2047 project is rapidly approaching a significant milestone as preparations for its rollout near completion. The first draft of the comprehensive Vision Document is expected to be ready by the last week of December, marking a crucial step in the state's long-term development strategy.
Massive Public Participation in Vision Crafting
The state government has received an overwhelming response from citizens, with over 9.8 million suggestions and feedback pouring in from across Uttar Pradesh. These valuable inputs are currently being processed and analyzed by the prestigious IIT Kanpur, which is tasked with collating all suggestions and identifying the most impactful ones for inclusion in the final Vision Document.
Principal Secretary of Planning, Alok Kumar, confirmed that the institute is not only compiling all suggestions but also highlighting the best ones that will be incorporated into the visionary blueprint. In a remarkable move to encourage public participation, the state government has announced that the best suggestions will be recognized and awarded at both state and district levels.
Final Stakeholder Meetings Underway
The project is currently in its final phase of stakeholder consultations. According to Kumar, all departments have collaboratively provided suggestions on how their respective sectors can be improved and transformed. The remaining meetings focus on critical areas including urban development, health, and rural development, with the final meeting concerning home and security scheduled for December 3.
"We are in the last leg of the stakeholder meetings," Kumar stated. "Thereafter, we will commence the work of drafting the first chapter of the Vision Document. The process will take around 15 days or so."
Comprehensive Departmental Contributions
A government spokesperson revealed that all departments have conducted extensive meetings and submitted their detailed reports to the planning department. These meetings thoroughly discussed how each sector could contribute to sustainable growth and position Uttar Pradesh as the most developed state in the country by 2047.
The visionary project aims to achieve a remarkable transformation in the state's urban landscape. By 2047, the goal is to ensure that 60% of Uttar Pradesh's population lives in urban areas, establishing the state as a global model of sustainable and inclusive urbanization that other regions can emulate.
This comprehensive planning exercise represents one of the largest public consultation processes in the state's history, engaging millions of citizens in shaping Uttar Pradesh's future development trajectory over the next quarter century.
