West Bengal Clear Skies, Temperature Drop by 2°C

Stable Weather Conditions for West Bengal

The India Meteorological Department has announced favorable weather conditions for West Bengal in the coming days, with residents expected to enjoy predominantly clear skies throughout the upcoming week. Despite the development of a low-pressure system over distant waters, the regional weather outlook remains stable and predictable.

No weather warnings have been issued for West Bengal for the next seven days, providing reassurance to the state's residents and agricultural communities. The meteorological stability comes as welcome news following recent morning fog conditions observed in various districts.

Temperature Drop and Local Conditions

A noticeable change in temperature patterns is expected early next week, with the minimum temperature across West Bengal likely to decrease by approximately two degrees Celsius by November 25. This drop promises to bring a distinct chill to the morning and evening hours.

In Kolkata specifically, Monday's weather will feature mainly clear skies with maximum temperatures reaching 28 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures settling at 18 degrees Celsius. Similar conditions will persist through Tuesday before the anticipated temperature decline begins.

Recent observations recorded shallow fog in several South Bengal districts, including North and South 24 Parganas, Kolkata, and East Midnapore districts on Saturday. The weather department indicates that light morning fog may continue to appear in some areas.

Regional Temperature Variations and Cyclonic Development

Temperature recordings across the state show significant variation between regions. Sriniketan in South Bengal recorded 14.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature, while Alipurduar in North Bengal registered 14 degrees Celsius. The hill station of Darjeeling PTO experienced the coldest conditions at 5.6 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, meteorological developments are occurring in the Bay of Bengal region. The IMD has identified a well-marked low-pressure area strengthening over the Strait of Malacca and the South Andaman Sea. This system is very likely to intensify into a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea by November 24.

According to IMD projections, the weather system could develop into a cyclonic storm over the southeast Bay of Bengal within the subsequent 48 hours. However, officials emphasize that this development poses no immediate threat to West Bengal's weather conditions.

The temperature pattern after Tuesday's slight drop is expected to be temporary, with temperatures likely to increase again within a day or two, maintaining the overall pleasant weather conditions that characterize this season in Eastern India.
