A 21-year-old woman from Chhatarpur district has approached the police, alleging that she was assaulted and harassed by her husband and in-laws after giving birth to a daughter three months ago. The woman submitted a written complaint at the Superintendent of Police (SP) office, detailing continuous physical and mental abuse at her matrimonial home in Urdmau village.
According to the complaint, the husband and in-laws expressed dissatisfaction over the birth of a girl child and subjected her to repeated assaults and threats. The woman further claimed that during a recent altercation, her husband attempted to harm the infant. Fearing for her and her baby's safety, she left the house and sought police intervention. An investigation has been initiated based on her statement.
