CM Yogi Adityanath Urges Greater Female Participation in BJP Youth Outreach in Gorakhpur
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during a BJP youth outreach programme in Gorakhpur on Sunday, highlighted the noticeable absence of women attendees and called for more inclusive participation. Addressing the 'Yuva Samvad' event organised by the BJP's Malviya Nagar unit, the CM pointed out that despite the enactment of the women's reservation law, no women or girls were present at the venue.
Emphasis on Inclusivity and Countering Opposition Narratives
Yogi Adityanath remarked, "Women attend female-centric programmes, but their presence should also be ensured in general events attended by men." He urged organisers to adopt a more inclusive approach to ensure broader representation in all party activities.
In addition to addressing gender inclusivity, the CM directed the BJP's young cadre to be "fully prepared" to counter what he described as "negative narratives" spread by the opposition on social media. He emphasised the importance of maintaining decorum in language while effectively responding to these challenges.
With upcoming assembly elections, Yogi warned that "baseless allegations" would intensify online and stressed that party workers must respond effectively at the booth level by highlighting the government's achievements.
Youth as Drivers of Transformative Growth
Emphasising the pivotal role of youth, Yogi stated that India's young population has historically stood for "truth and tradition," drawing inspiration from iconic figures such as Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Swami Vivekananda, and Subhas Chandra Bose.
He added that Uttar Pradesh, with its substantial youth base, has the potential to drive transformative growth if this demographic is channelled positively towards constructive endeavours.
Contrasting Past and Present Governance
Contrasting the current administration with the pre-2017 period, the CM alleged that the state previously faced frequent law-and-order issues, poor infrastructure, and a lack of employment opportunities. However, since 2017, he claimed significant improvements:
- The state's economy has nearly tripled.
- Per capita income has risen significantly.
- Approximately nine lakh government jobs have been provided without corruption.
Development Highlights in Gorakhpur and Beyond
Referring specifically to development in Gorakhpur, Yogi highlighted that investments worth over Rs 15,000 crore have led to the establishment of more than 300 industrial units, generating employment for over 50,000 youths. He also noted improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, and connectivity as key achievements.
Touching upon global developments, the CM mentioned that geopolitical tensions have affected several countries, but India has maintained stability under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, underscoring the nation's resilience and progress.
