CM Yogi Adityanath Reaffirms Commitment to 'Ram Rajya' and Good Governance in Gorakhpur

In a significant address during the Chaitra Navratri and Ram Navami celebrations, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reiterated his government's unwavering commitment to ensuring security and good governance across the state. Speaking at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur on Friday, the CM asserted that Uttar Pradesh is steadily progressing towards the ideal of "Ram Rajya", underpinned by a zero-tolerance policy against crime and corruption.

Ram Temple and Spiritual Significance

Referring to the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized that what several generations never witnessed has now become a reality. He described Ram Navami as a sacred occasion symbolizing prosperity and spiritual fulfillment, noting that Lord Ram continues to inspire generations through his ideal life and values.

The CM highlighted key milestones in the temple's construction, including the consecration ceremony held on January 22, 2024, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which he called a moment of pride for millions of devotees. He also mentioned that PM Modi hoisted a saffron flag at the temple on November 25 last year, symbolizing the pride of Sanatan Dharm.

Additionally, Adityanath noted that President Droupadi Murmu visited the temple during Navratri on March 19 and installed the Shri Ram Yantra on the upper floor, marking the completion of key phases of the project. He stated that devotees across the country and the world have witnessed these historic developments firsthand, experiencing immense joy and spiritual fulfillment.

"Every follower of Sanatan Dharm today feels blessed in their birth and life. What several generations could not witness, people in the present era have seen with their own eyes," he said.

Governance and Welfare Initiatives

Extending greetings to the people on Chaitra Navratri and Ram Navami after performing ‘Kanya Pujan’ at the Gorakhnath Temple, the Chief Minister assured that the government is working diligently to ensure that welfare schemes reach every section of society without discrimination.

Highlighting the state's achievements, Adityanath said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, more than 6 crore people have been lifted above the poverty line in the past decade. This milestone underscores the government's focus on economic development and social upliftment.

Women's Empowerment and Safety

Emphasizing the importance of women's empowerment, the Chief Minister detailed several initiatives aimed at ensuring the safety, dignity, and self-reliance of women. Key programs include:

  • Mission Shakti: A comprehensive campaign for women's safety and empowerment.
  • Beti Bachao Beti Padhao: A scheme focused on saving and educating the girl child.
  • Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana: A financial assistance program for the welfare of girls.

Adityanath also highlighted that a 20% reservation for women in the Uttar Pradesh Police has been successfully implemented, with over 44,000 women personnel currently serving in the force. This move aims to enhance gender inclusivity and security in law enforcement.

Traditional Rituals and Celebrations

Following the Gorakshpeeth tradition, Chief Minister Adityanath performed ‘Kanya Pujan’ by washing the feet of nine young girls, who symbolized the nine forms of Goddess Durga. He offered prayers, draped them with chunris, and performed aarti as part of the sacred rituals.

The CM also served food to the girls and presented them with gifts and ‘dakshina’, seeking their blessings. After the ‘Kanya Pujan’, he proceeded to the Ram Darbar inside the Gorakhnath Temple, where he offered prayers to the installed deities on the occasion of Ram Navami.

The idol of Ram Lalla, adorned and placed in a flower-decked cradle, was worshipped amid Vedic chants at noon, symbolizing the moment of Lord Ram's birth. This ceremony added a profound spiritual dimension to the celebrations, reflecting the deep cultural and religious heritage of the region.
