CM Yogi Adityanath Inaugurates Milk Chilling Center, Touts Azamgarh's Remarkable Transformation
In a significant address in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the dramatic shift in perception regarding the state and its districts. He highlighted that while people from Azamgarh were once denied hotel rooms due to its notorious reputation, they are now welcomed with open arms across the country.
Inauguration of Milk Chilling Center and Praise for Women's Empowerment
The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the newly constructed milk chilling center of Shri Baba Gorakhnath Kripa Dugdh Utpadak Sanstha in Azamgarh. He commended the efforts of the Milk Producer Company, particularly chairperson Neeraj and over 56,000 women associated with the initiative.
"When a woman becomes self-reliant, the entire family becomes self-reliant, and such families form the strong links of our society," stated Adityanath. He noted that initial skepticism about the program has been dispelled by its success, with the collection of 1.70 lakh litres of milk, fair pricing of Rs 55 per litre for farmers, and guaranteed unadulterated quality.
Sharp Criticism of Opposition Parties
Launching a pointed attack on the Samajwadi Party, the CM accused it of limiting development work to Saifai while neglecting Azamgarh, despite the district consistently electing its candidates. "This party cannot see Azamgarh, which repeatedly elects its candidate," he asserted.
Adityanath also contrasted the current government's achievements with previous administrations, referencing the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. "Could the previous governments, which used to fire bullets at Ram devotees, have accomplished this task?" he questioned, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a symbol of a new era of development, respect, and faith under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Infrastructure and Connectivity Improvements
The Chief Minister detailed substantial infrastructure enhancements, particularly highlighting the Purvanchal Expressway. He reported that travel time from Azamgarh to Lucknow has been reduced from six hours to just 2.5 to 2.45 hours, while Gorakhpur is now accessible in less than 1.5 hours. Connectivity with Varanasi and Prayagraj has also seen significant improvements.
He criticized both the Congress and Samajwadi Party for neglecting the development of Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, and Jaunpur. "If it had been on their agenda, they could have built the Purvanchal Expressway or established a university in the name of Maharaj Suheldev," Adityanath remarked, emphasizing that development is not part of their agenda, whereas the Bharatiya Janata Party prioritizes "Nation First."
Cow Protection and Energy Initiatives
Adityanath outlined progress in cow protection, noting that before 2017, issues like illegal slaughterhouses and smuggling were prevalent. Today, the state boasts over 7,700 cow shelters, protection arrangements for 15 lakh cattle, and assistance of Rs 1,500 per month per cow under the Mukhyamantri Sahbhagita Yojana. Additionally, providing cows to malnourished families is enhancing nutrition and self-reliance, forming a strong foundation for overall development and social empowerment.
In the energy sector, he highlighted efforts to promote biogas plants and honor Lakhpati Didis who supply fuel through gobar gas. "In a world facing conflicts and uproar over petroleum products, we Indians should feel proud under Prime Minister Modi's leadership that everything is going well in India," he said. Initiatives like the rooftop solar scheme aim to make the country self-reliant in energy, potentially reducing electricity bills by 60%.
Future Goals and Government Support
The CM praised the National Dairy Development Board and Baba Gorakhnath Milk Producer Company, calling for the preparation of 1 lakh Lakhpati Didis in Azamgarh and an increase in milk production to 2 lakh litres. He assured that the government is committed to providing all possible support to achieve these goals, reinforcing the state's dedication to sustainable development and women's empowerment.
