Yogi to give land rights to 1,645 displaced families

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will distribute land ownership certificates to 1,645 families displaced from Pakistan during a programme in Bijnor on Monday, marking another major step in the state government's efforts to provide legal land rights and rehabilitation benefits to displaced and marginalized communities.

Land Rights for Displaced Families

Besides the displaced families, 50 former servicemen and leaseholders will also receive 'bhumidhari' (land ownership) rights certificates. The distribution of land rights forms part of the state's broader rehabilitation and welfare drive targeting displaced families and socially disadvantaged groups. The government said the initiative is intended to provide beneficiaries with legal ownership, social security and access to government welfare schemes.

Other Welfare Initiatives

During the programme, the CM will distribute sanction letters and financial assistance cheques to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, aimed at promoting housing and self-employment opportunities.

Inauguration of Community Café

Yogi will also inaugurate the Vidur Prerna Café, a community initiative being operated by women associated with self-help groups and common service centres (CSCs), officials said.

This comprehensive event underscores the state government's commitment to uplifting marginalized sections through legal land rights, housing support, and entrepreneurial opportunities. The distribution of land certificates is expected to empower displaced families by granting them formal ownership and enabling them to access various government schemes.
