Youth Congress Leader Suspended Following Arrest in Theft Case

The suspension letter, issued late on Friday by district Youth Congress president Varun, formally terminates Pandey's primary membership and removes him from his post with immediate effect. In the letter, Varun stated that "through newspapers and social media it has come to notice that you have been engaged in acts of indiscipline which have caused damage to the image of the party." The letter further clarified that his conduct falls under the category of indiscipline, leading to this decisive action. Notably, the letter does not explicitly mention the theft case, focusing instead on the broader issue of party discipline.

According to police sources, Pandey was among three individuals arrested in relation to a theft reported on the night of January 20 at the residence of Manoj Mishra, a resident of Sirsawan in Chitrakoot. The theft involved an estimated Rs 20 lakh in valuables. Intriguingly, the complainant's son was also allegedly involved in the case, adding a layer of complexity to the investigation.
During the investigation, police recovered more than Rs 10 lakh in cash and jewellery valued at around Rs 4 lakh from the possession of the accused. All three suspects were subsequently produced before a court and remanded to jail, pending further legal proceedings.
