Rajasthan CM Approves Police Promotions for 5 Asian & Commonwealth Games Medalists
5 Rajasthan Police Personnel Promoted for Sports Achievements

In a significant move to honor sporting excellence, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has approved special promotions for five police personnel who brought glory to the state and nation through their medal-winning performances at international sporting events.

Recognizing Sporting Excellence in Police Force

The Chief Minister gave his official sanction on Saturday for the special promotions under the sports quota, acknowledging the outstanding achievements of these athlete-police personnel. The promoted officers include four sub-inspectors and one RAC platoon commander who have demonstrated exceptional sporting talent on global platforms.

The promotion orders specifically benefit sub-inspectors Sushma Sharma, Pooja, Nidhi Sharma, and Sachin, who have been elevated to the rank of inspector. Meanwhile, RAC platoon commander Muskan Malik has received promotion to the position of company commander. These career advancements have been granted against probable vacancies anticipated for the 2025–26 period.

International Medal Winners Honored

The promoted personnel have an impressive record of sporting achievements that prompted this recognition. Sushma Sharma, Nidhi Sharma, Muskan Malik, and Sachin collectively won gold medals in kabaddi at the prestigious 19th Asian Games held in China in 2022. Their stellar performance contributed significantly to India's medal tally at the continental sporting extravaganza.

Sub-inspector Pooja secured a bronze medal in wrestling at the 2022 Commonwealth Games conducted in the United Kingdom, showcasing her grappling prowess against international competition. Her achievement highlights the diverse sporting talents within the Rajasthan police force.

Government Commitment to Sportspersons

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, while congratulating the athletes, emphasized the state government's dedication to recognizing and rewarding sportspersons who enhance Rajasthan's reputation globally. "Their hard work and achievements have increased the pride of the state and the country," the CM stated.

The Chief Minister further added that "This promotion acknowledges their excellence and will inspire many others" to pursue sporting ambitions while serving in government positions. The move is expected to motivate other police personnel to excel in sports while maintaining their professional duties.

Official sources confirmed that the promotions were processed according to established rules that make medal winners at Asian Games and Commonwealth Games eligible for promotion to the next rank. The recommendation process began with proposals sent by the DIG (recruitment and promotion board), which underwent thorough examination by a reward committee before receiving the Chief Minister's final approval.

This initiative demonstrates Rajasthan's progressive approach to recognizing sporting talent within its police force, creating role models for aspiring athletes in uniformed services across India.
