The Army Cadet College (ACC) Wing of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, held its annual graduation ceremony on June 6, with 73 cadets receiving bachelor's degrees upon completing a three-year academic and military training program. They will now proceed for pre-commission training at the IMA.
Degree Conferment
Lt Gen Nagendra Singh, Commandant of the Indian Military Academy, conferred the bachelor's degrees awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Among the graduates, 32 cadets completed the science stream and 42 cadets completed the humanities stream, representing the 127th course of ACC.
Role of Army Cadet College
The Army Cadet College is a training institute of the Indian Army that serves as a feeder institute to the IMA. It selects promising soldiers from the ranks and grooms them to become officers through a comprehensive training curriculum focused on physical, mental, and intellectual development. Each cadet undergoes a graduation program combined with rigorous military training to instill the qualities required for commissioned officers in the Indian Army.
Convocation Address
In his convocation address, Lt Gen Nagendra Singh congratulated the cadets for successfully completing the rigorous training and reaching a significant milestone in their professional careers. He emphasized that character, self-discipline, courage, motivation, a positive attitude, and professional competence are the pillars of a successful Army officer.
